Golf Sonnets began as a single poem solicited submission to a collection proposed by Thom Ward, my poetry coach and eventual publisher. The collection was to be entitled Bogey Poems, which Thom envisaged as humorous poetical reflections on the Game we both loved and hacked at. The poem I submitted was a sonnet entitled "The Rules".He called me and asked, "Can you write 17 more?"
Something like Twenty-Six Thousand of you are happy owners of Golf Sonnets, including Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, who actually wrote me letters thanking me for my work.
I only have a few hundred copies of Golf Sonnets left, which I'm happy to let go for $18 each (just a buck per poem), free shipping and no extra charge for my autograph. Let me know at jkiphale@protonmail.ch if you're interested.
